Unlike the real VERGE NECCS Standings, these are totally for fun.
The question, posed by in 2009 Steve Hopengarten, was "who is the fastest guy to never get a Verge point?" He was hoping, of course, that the answer was him, so
he could launch into a diatribe about being unfairly persecuted for his consistent 26th places.
So, we came up with a "near-miss" points scale to measure how tantalizingly close to 25th place you finished. 26th place is worth 25 points, 27th is worth 24, and so on, down to 50th place being worth 1 point.
